Kevin is a settler of French-Irish descent who grew up on Treaty 7 territory, and now lives, works and plays on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin-Anishinaabe peoples. Kevin has always been passionate about the outdoors, and has been working with people in the natural world for the last 15 years. He first did this as a adventure guide, then as an educator/youth worker, and finally as a social worker and psychotherapist. Kevin is passionate about the transformative experiences he has had in nature and is driven to try to pass this on to others.
Relationship and trust is the cornerstone of Kevin’s work, and he has seen time and time again that when therapy is presented through experience and movement, it can be much more accessible to those who otherwise struggle to engage or benefit. Kevin works with children, youth, families, couples and adults, often supporting neurodiverse folks and their families. Kevin utilizes play and connection with nature to engage those he works with.
Kevin has completed a Bachelors in Outdoor Adventure Leadership at Laurentian University and a Masters of Social Work at Carleton University. In addition to his NBT training, Kevin has received formal training in modalities such as Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Adventure Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, which he incorporates into an attachment-based and neurodiversity affirming framework.
Outside of work, Kevin gets outside whenever he can. He can be found canoeing, rock climbing, hiking and hanging out with his golden retriever, Zoey.
