Advanced Nature-Based Therapist (CNBT2)

Level 2

Level 2 Certification is designed for practitioners who have completed Level 1 and wish to receive specialized training and practice.  Practitioners will deepen their clinical skills, broaden their scope of practice, and learn how to more fully integrate Nature-Based Therapy into their client work within specialization areas.

To attain Level 2 Certification, practitioners must complete:

• 24 additional hours of advanced specialized training
• 9 more hours of group consultation
• ~10 hours of course reading and reflective practice
• 50 additional hours of client work (within specialization)
  • Client hours can be recorded after completing the in-person learning modules: NBT with Children, Youth, and Families; NBT with Groups; Nature-Based Parts Work; Ecotherapy Training for Trauma and Attachment
• Min 3 hours demonstrating specialized competency through presentation of client work during individual consultation
• Assisting with an Introductory NBT course 

All Level 1 requirements must be completed prior to applying for Level 2.

A deep dive into specialized NBT Practice.  Practitioners will choose from one of the following courses:

• Uncovering Genius – Nature-Based Parts Work Training (Somatic Nature Therapy Institute)
• NBT with Children, Youth and Families (Human-Nature Counselling Society)
• NBT with Groups (Human-Nature Counselling Society)
• Connecting with Ground – Ecotherapy Training for Trauma and Attachment (Somatic Nature Therapy Institute)

Explore and reflect on your current practice, deepen understanding of specialized NBT interventions, and practice nature-based invitations within a supportive practitioner community.

One-on-one mentorship focused on your evolving NBT practice within a chosen area of specialization.  Includes detailed review of client work and assessment of applied interventions.

Practitioners completing Level 2 will:

• Be listed in the Nature-Based Therapy Training Collective database as Advanced Nature-Based Therapist
• Be eligible for referrals to clients and agencies seeking specialized NBT services
• Gain skills and confidence to provide Nature-Based Therapy within a specialized area of practice
